One Love Festival - the festival with this years 'biggest reggae line up' - is coming to Bruton. Taking place from Friday, August 31 until Sunday, September 2 at Gilcombe Farm, the festival anticipates people from all around the globe will come to south Somerset in the name of reggae. The festival is supported by Amnesty International UK, with 20 per cent of the proceeds from ticket sales going towards supporting Amnesty's human rights work. The festival is an annual event and moves to a different English location every summer. The festival has grown year by year and is now a major three-day reggae event, which will see some of Reggae's biggest names come to the Somerset countryside. Artists such as: Johnny Clarke, Jerry Dammers, Johnny Osbourne, Zion Train, Might Diamonds and Mad Professor will all be performing as some of the biggest reggae, ska and dub names come from all over the world. The people of Bruton also receive a discount if they wish to go the event, with promoter Dan Wiltshire saying residents can get a third off with a weekend ticket. He said: "It's going to be a really great weekend with something to do for all of the family. It's not just music. "It's an event where there is no judgement and an atmosphere of acceptance where there are no borders. "We've got a longer list of reggae acts than any other reggae festival this year. "We have the Rasta Village where you'll be surrounded by the Rastafarian life in motion. "There's going to be drumming workshops, craftwork workshops, dancing and chanting workshops, art exhibitions, as well as loads of amazing authentic food available. "It's a really big cultural event and a great opportunity to get together with lots of different people and have fun." Kerry Moscogiuri, Amnesty International UK’s campaigns director, said: “We’re delighted that One Love is supporting Amnesty’s human rights work and we expect this to be a superb event from some of the world’s best reggae musicians. "Reggae has a long history of supporting human rights issues, from the campaign to end Apartheid in South Africa to speaking out on police killings and institutionalised discrimination.
